## Privacy Policy for Manivae

Manivae ("we", "our", or "the App") provides automated catalog classification and personalized skincare routine recommendation tools for merchants using the Shopify platform. This Privacy Policy describes how personal and store data is collected, used, and handled when a merchant installs or a shopper interacts with the App.

**1. Information We Collect**  
**A. Merchant Store Data**  
When a merchant installs Manivae, we access store information via Shopify APIs necessary to deliver our services, including:

- **Store Identifiers:** Shop domain (myshopify.com domain), contact email address, and access tokens for API authentication.
- **Product Catalog Information:** Product titles, vendor/brand details, descriptions, images, handle URLs, product types, tags, variants, pricing, and inventory quantities. We process catalog data to automatically classify products into clinical skincare routine steps (Cleanse, Hydrate, Treat, Moisturize, Protect).
- **Styling & App Preferences:** Merchant customization settings, including custom colors, copy, and layout preferences configured in the Manivae customizer.

**B. Shopper & Consultation Data (Storefront Customers)**  
When shoppers interact with the storefront quiz:

- **Routine Quiz Responses:** Inputs regarding skin type (e.g., oily, dry, sensitive), primary and secondary skin concerns (e.g., acne, pigmentation, redness), sensitivity level, and preferred routine depth.
- **Session Attribution:** Ephemeral client session tokens stored locally in browser session storage to persist recommendation results during the visit and attribute cart bundle items.
- **Personal Identifiable Information (PII): Manivae does not collect or persist customer names, email addresses, phone numbers, physical addresses, or payment details.** All routine generation logic operates on anonymous session attributes.

**2. How We Use the Information**  
We use the collected information exclusively to:

- Provide, run, and optimize the Manivae Skincare Routine Builder.
- Match customer skin profiles against the merchant's active, in-stock catalog formulations using algorithmic decision rules.
- Enable 1-click cart bundling for recommended products.
- Sync real-time catalog changes (additions, price adjustments, inventory updates, and deletions) via Shopify Webhooks.

**3. Data Sharing & Third Parties**

- **No Sale of Data:** We do not sell, rent, or trade merchant or customer data to third parties, data brokers, or advertising networks under any circumstances.
- **Service Providers:** We may process catalog text through trusted cloud computing and AI services (such as Google Cloud / Gemini API) strictly for the purpose of analyzing ingredient and product category attributes. Such data is processed transiently and is not used to train public models.
- **Shopify:** We interact with Shopify's APIs in full compliance with the Shopify Partner Program Agreement.

**4. Data Retention and Deletion (GDPR & CCPA Compliance)**  
Manivae fully supports automated GDPR and privacy compliance webhooks provided by Shopify:

- **Customer Data Requests (** customer/data\_request **):** Because Manivae does not store customer PII or persistent customer profiles, no individual customer identity records are retained in our database.
- **Customer Data Erasure (** customers/redact **):** Any ephemeral shopper data linked to a store is cleared according to standard retention rules.
- **Store Data Erasure (** shop/redact **):** Within 48 hours of an app uninstall, when Shopify triggers the mandatory store redact webhook, Manivae permanently purges all offline access tokens, stored catalog representations, and merchant settings from our persistent database.

 Merchants or customers may also request manual verification or deletion of any stored data at any time by contacting us directly at **support@manivae.com.**

**5. Security**  
We take reasonable and appropriate administrative, technical, and physical measures to protect all merchant data and API credentials against unauthorized access, loss, alteration, or misuse.

**6. Updates to This Policy**  
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect operational, legal, or regulatory requirements. Any updates will be posted to this page with an updated revision date.
